PLASMA / FIBROBLASTING

PLASMA TECHNOLOGY IS INNOVATIVE

This professional only treatment does not involve a laser or scalpel to remove excess skin-instead it uses the power of plasma to tighten and rejuvenate.

Plasma is formed through ionisation of atmospheric gases to stimulate instant contraction and tightening of the skin. Also known as 'Fibroblasing" this non surgical procedure is highlt effective in smoothing wrinkles, tightening skin and plumping lines, as well as being an alternative to surgical blepharoplasty (the plastic surgery option for correcting the eyelids, hooded eyes and for aesthetically modifying the eye region of the face).

Plasma is specifically designed to dramatically enhance looks without cutting, burning or removing excess skin or fat and is a great substitute for traditional surgical treatments.

PLASMA FACIAL AND BODY REJUVENATION

Facial rejuvenation with plasma can give amazing results that are normally only achieved by surgery. It is a viable alternative to any kind of fillers, without using injectables.

Hyperpigmentation and discolouration from photo damage can be reversed (Fitzpatrick scale 3 and below), fine lines and wrinkles reduce dramatically, and the skins overall appearance is more youthful.

Not only can plasma be used for eye/eyelid corrections, hooded eyes, neck lifts and mini face lifts, it can also be used on other areas of the body, battling loose stomach skin and stretch marks. Minor skin lesions like skin tags are easily removed. Results are accurate and fast and long lasting, with clients being able to expect maintained resuts for up to 3 years.

HOW DOES PLASMA WORK?

Plasma treatments work on the principle of ionised gas in the air. At the right distance from the skin, oxygen and nitrogen are mixed, and the electrostatic energy produces the plasmatic effusion or arc, which disvharges on the skin.

Without actually touching the skin, the plasma arc vaporises the skin forcing it to contract and stimulate fibroblasts- the cells responsible for the production of collagen.

Small carbon crusts form on the skin, resembling dots, which slough away over the coming days to reveal regenerated skin.

This micro trauma and stimulation is the key to the treatments results as it stimulates fibroblasts, existing collagen and elastin and promotes the production of nw skin cells which will help to strengthen, plump and tighten the skin.

New cell production continues for several weeks after a session, this helps to refine lines and wrinkles and improve the overall complexion of the skin.

WHAT CAN CLIENTS EXPECT FROM A PLASMA TREATMENT

The treatment is really straight forward, so there is no need for a medical profesional to be present.

To ensure client comfort, topical anaesthetic cream can be applied. You can expect a small degree of swelling when treating the eye area, which usually resolves quickly within 3 or 4 days.

Small circular carbon crusts form at each treatment point, which slough away after a few days but may take up to a week to completely clear. After care balms expidite healing and minimise infection risk. Once the skin has healed you will then be left with more yothful, radiant skin.

The results from this treatment are dramatic and lon lasting, so usually a single treatment is enough to achieve the results you want, however if you would like or need a stronger result then the procedure can be repeated after 3 months. Because of its permanency repeat treatments are only required as you genetically age.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What is plasma?

Scientifically plasma is the fourth state of matter. The small flashes or 'arcs' are created by giving molecules in the air extra energy. These tiny arcs cause micro trauma to the skin. When skin is traumatised in this way, it kick starts healing and renewing processes. The skin creates more collagen, and tightens existing elastin fibres-making the skin contract and tighten.

Does Plasma/fibroblasting hurt?

Numbing cream can be applied on the area to be treated to ensure comfort. Some clients feel the sensation of light zaps, a bit like a rubber band being pinged on the skin. Some feel nothing at all. Either way the treatment is more than tolerable. The plasma device has a nano probe, so it is very small in size, and allows efficient treatment with minimal dscomfort.

When will I see results?

Results can often be seen right away, they then go on to improve over the coming weeks as the skin creates new collagen and elastin fibres.

Will it leave a scar?

The outer layers of the skin have a tissue matrix which is reslilient to minor trauma treatments like Plasma. This means that there is a very low risk of scarring should you follow the aftercare advice given. Lighter patches of newer skin maybe visible when the carbon crusts first fall away, however these return to normal skin colour within 2 to 6 months.

How long do Plasma/Fibroblasting treatments last?

One of the advantages of Plasma treatment is its ability to last a very long time after the treatment. So long, that we would say that it is permanent. The skin will continue to age after the treatment, but results can be seen for a very long time. Your age and lifestyle will play a part in the longevity of your results. For example if you had smokers lines treated, these are partially caused by the muscular action of smoking. If you continued to smoke your results may not last as long as someone who doesnt smoke- but they would still have good longevity.

What aftercare do I follow?

Plasma treatment aftercare is straightforward and simple to follow. The aftercare routine will be gone through with you in detail at your appointment with instructions given with you to take home along with a healing balm. No make up should be applied to the treated area and a SPF 50 is recommended to be applied for a few weeks after treatment, especially if your treatment is done during the warmer months.

How long does healing take?

Carbon crusts, like small polka dots are created as part of the treatment process. These will generally slough away around 5-7 days after your treatment. Some swelling is possible, with the upper eyelids being sensitive to this, but this too tends to dissapate within a few days. I had my my upper and lower lids as well as crows feet done and I was at my worst on day 2/3 which is to be expected for all eye areas treated, so please bear this in mind when booking your treatment.

Who isn't the treatment suitable for?

Pregnant or breastfeeding woman and those with auto-immune disorders, pacemaker or those taking blood thinners are not suitable for this treatment. It is not suitable for those that suffer from keloid (raised) scarring. Fitzpatrick skin types IV, V and VI are not suitable for treatment due to the risk of hyperpigmentation. (If you are unsure which Fitzpatrick skin type you are, dont worry as this will be determined by one of the consultation forms that you will need to fill in). I offer free consulations in the clinic which you can book online or fill in the form below if you want to dicuss potential medical issues with me before making a booking. Once you have booked a treatment or consultation then you will be sent over the consultation forms via email which you will have to fill out before coming to your appointment.
