Ear candles are an ancient and natural therapy handed down by many civilisations and used far afield such as Asia, The Siberian Prairies, and most notably native America. It is from this part of the world that the oldest tribe of Pueblo people, and with their great medicinal knowledge and spirituality give their name to the candles we call hopi.
Ear candles were used traditionally by Shamen healers. Ancient wall paintings (such as those found within the caves of the Grand Canyon) show the importance of ear candling in initiation rituals and healing ceromonies of the tribe.
It is believed that the Ancient Greeks used ear candles, initially probably for cleansing, purifying and healing on a spiritual basis but much later, on a purely physical basis. however, the practise reached the modern world via the native North American Hopi Indians.
